Knowledge management strategies and methods on concept maps as an educational tool for people with some learning disabilities   The use of teaching/learning technologies have a very positive impact on the improvement of learning for people affected with some kinds of learning impairments or special needs: dyslexia, attention deficit disorder (ADD). People affected with some sensory deficits and mild mental retardation can also benefit from this technology that incorporates multimodal (coordinated graphics, text voice and interaction) communication functions. Recent experience show that people affected by some disorders of the autistic spectrum can reach success with KM: please see the experience of Knowledge Maser and autism A learning disability is a disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in the use of language (written or spoken), which may manifest itself in an impaired ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations. There can also be present directional confusion, difficulty in sequencing, and difficulty in keeping information in working memory.

Working memory is crucial for learning A learning difficulty (or disability) related to a  deficit in working memory, at times associated with other symptoms, is frequent in students affected with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or dyslexia.  In these cases "verbal information enters through one ear and pass out through the other”. These problems are not due to motor, visual or auditive handicaps, nor even to mental retardation, or emotional disturbance or environmental, cultural or economical disadvantage. Though working memory issues can exist without dyslexia or Attention Deficit Disorder, memory issues in learning can also be solved with KM proposed strategies. It is considered that an individual has a learning disability when his/her level of cognitive growth  is not commensurate with the corresponding ability in anyone of the study areas, even having received the educational experiences corresponding to his/her age.
